Kidney stones occur when minerals and other substances in your urine crystallize and enter the kidneys and become kidney stones or kidney deposits. These can include small stones, stones with a sharp or soft body, or large and heavy stones that almost resemble a polished river stone. These stones are usually removed from your body naturally through urine.
However, sometimes your body cannot expel larger stones naturally without the need for treatment methods. This can lead to kidney damage. People with kidney stone disease usually experience things like bleeding, severe pain or urinary tract infections. When stones start to cause such problems in the body, your doctor may suggest lithotripsy treatment.
